That's not seven of nine, or the actress that played her.

I think he means he never thought he'd find someone he'd rather fap to than Seven of Nine.

Mizzou I dunno what order to watch them in, but I went in to BSG as a space-sci-fi noob (never watched Star Trek, SG, etc) and I loved it.

Tricia Helfer makes Jeri Ryan look like the day shift at a low-end titty bar.

That said, I will offer you the same simple advice I would offer someone who wanted to start watching through Lost:

DEAR FUCKING GOD DON'T GODDAMN DO IT IT WILL ONLY LEAD TO PAIN, AGONY, DISAPPOINTMENT AND ANGER. UPON SERIES COMPLETION YOU WILL FEEL SUCH MURDEROUS RAGE THAT YOU MAY BURN DOWN AN ORPHANAGE.

I finished STNG a long time ago, still my fav series, but I also finished Dr. Who with my wife a week ago. Seems like all BSG is on Hulu and Prime so I'm starting to jump into this, I never watched it before because it seemed like one of those shows you have to watch in order, not like Family Guy or something like that....

Speaking of FG, I watched that series backwards :D

The funny thing about Jeri Ryan is that if she had just been a little more open minded about going to sex clubs with her then husband we might have a different president today.

BSG was wrapped up much more nicely and satisfyingly than Lost. I still want to freaking know why Walt was so damn important.

A lot of people just have a hard time dealing with endings that aren't absolutely conclusive. I think Walt hit puberty so he didn't fit any longer.... lol.

BSG & Lost made the 2nd greatest era in TV. The current one is going on right now thanks to AMC.

Yes the miniseries led into the series.

The ending is more satisfying than Lost imo, but there are elements that will frustrate some.

I never watched the show when it was on. So I recently watched the series on Prime Instant. Without throwing up spoilers, I did not mind the way they ended it. Great sci-fi is often a cautionary tale. It provided closure for me with the characters as well. All the wailing and gnashing of teeth over it, is LOST on me :p

To the OP, watch the mini-series for the setup. Then watch seasons 1 and 2 at a minimum. Seasons 3 & 4 are a little more uneven but still excellent.

I liked the ending of BSG, for the most part. What I didn't like, was the deterrence from survival and Cylon fighting through season 3 and most of 4. There was too much focus on asinine political and interpersonal drama rather than the survival of 30K people.

I've never watched BSG either. Is it that good?

I would just watch the first 2 seasons and part of the 3rd season (up to Exodus, Part II) - that episode has one of the most badass scenes you will ever see in sci fi.

I don't understand why people think the religion thing came out of left field. Religion was a huge part of the show since like episode 3.
