I've never had my website's bandwidth be exceeded in one month

Or a big fat bill depending on your provider (or contract with that provider).

But will I is the question? I pay for 100MB and get a 1GB site. My monthly bandwidth is 10GB, I wonder if that is upped as well.

I bet you will. I don't know of any hosting companies that will charge you if you go over, rather than shutting you down. And if there are, they wouldn't survive for too long, I don't think. Who would want a company like that?

Companies like 1&1 do it IIRC.

Where did I complain? And as posted before, they haven't been on there in a month.

If running a business/e-commerce site, I'd love it. How professional does it look when you get a bandwidth exceeded page 3 weeks into the month?

1and1 is a good example. Many companies will actually do it by request, just not by default. I have plenty of clients that ask us to set up their accounts so that they dont get suspended and instead would prefer that they get billed so that they don't suffer a downtime because of it.

I couldn't have expected this response. :Q

She runs a personal website as do most people. I guess you're right. If she sold pics of her boobs then maybe she'd care more.

Usually around $1 a gb with most companies.

They'll either:

1) Automatically turn off your control panel with a "bandwidth limit exceeded" message.
2) Charge you overage which is usually around $2 per GB. It's cheaper if you PRE-PURCHASE it before needing it.
3) Upgrade you from the $7.95/mo to the $14.95/mo account then you'll need to request a downgrade on 2/1.

100MB/10GB for $7.95/mo isn't bad but it isn't super hot either. If you're satisfied with the services your web host is offering then I would consider upgrading to the next plan. Otherwise there are web hosts which offer more disk/bandwidth in that price range.

For example if you were to take advantage of Telnap's holiday special:
Shared Accounts
Plan Name Disk Space Bandwidth Price (per month)
KiloByte 600MB 10GB $14.97 /yr
MegaByte 1.4GB 20GB $35.7 /yr
GigaByte 2.5GB 40GB $5.97
TeraByte 5GB 80GB $9.57

If you plan on hosting more than one domain I'd take a look at:
SonataWeb.net for $5.95/mo offers:

» HOST UNLIMITED DOMAINS!
» Storage: 1000 MB's
» Transfer: 20,000 MB's
» cPanel/WHM Access
» SonataWeb DNS Servers*
» 18 cPanel Themes - RVSkins & XController Included.
» Fantastico Auto Installer
» 30 Day Money Back Guarantee
» 99.8% Uptime Guarantee
» $5.95 a Month

WebKore.net for $9.99/mo offers 2GB/40GB
