I've never cried for myself.

Does that sound weird?

I cry in movies. i cry reading books. but i've NEVER cried because I was sad. Other things have induced me to tears, joy, excitment etc, but NEVER because i was sad.

is that strange?

i should see a therapist maybe, but then again maybe not. i'm the eternal optimist, to the point where i drive my wife and brother CRAZY (they are the two people i'm closest to).

Who cries because you're sad for yourself?

i don't know? who does? i see it in the movies all the time.

i've had some sad experiences in my life. but i don't cry.

ya, i did squirt toothpaste in my eye once accidently and yes, my eyes did water.

Sounds like someone has never had his heart broken.

not true. i dated this girl for about 2 years, her parents opposed our relationship and eventually they forced her to return to Thailand (where she is from) and i was directly told that if i ever visited Thailand i would not make it out of the country alive.

oh ya, her dad was a Thai General, so he was pretty confident in his ability to keep his promise/threat.

Shrug. I can't remember the last time I cried out of sheer depression for myself, either. I think the last time I cried was 9/11/01.

Has the world gone mad? Why would you need to see a therapist because you don't cry? What kind of stupid crap is that?
