I've finally decided on which case to go with. And since I will have it for a good while, decided to get a "premium" case :)

It is expensive, and I am sure some of you will say I can get something better for less money, But...I like it so I am buying it. :)

The red interior will go good with my Ashley AMD/ATI setup.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

I always liked the 840, its very clean and open. I have Cosmos and want to replace it with this or the 800D.

You're not the only one who missed it. I was hoping to use it on an upcoming build for a friend, but it's a bit out of his price range. If I could make him expand it for this thing, I would. I really wish the inside was painted, too, but oh well.

I'm hoping to use the 800D or Antec 1200 for my next build unless something else spectacular comes along. I don't want to say I'm a Corsair fanboy, but they make some quality stuff.

Obligatory TJ07 recommendation. :p Seriously, once you go with a "premium" case, you don't go back. *pets his FT01* The only downside, of course, is the lack of some modern features.

Give the Lian-Li PC-A70F and PC-B70 a look. Personally, I just can't give up the curvyness of Silverstone's FT01 and TJ07. Maybe the TJ11 will end up being the next case to have...

I thought this case had been out for a while...I think people missed it because of the Cosmos and the Stacker 830 were more popular.

I do have an Antec P182 here, but have decided to use it for the current Intel build.

And get something else for the rig being built.

Well, I guess it comes down to how much money you want to spend on your case and what style you want to go with. Personally, the HAF 932/X are too over the top for my tastes. The ATCS 840 is basically the HAF made to look more elegant. While the 800D looks nice, the price is pretty staggering. So, if it was me...

...I'd go with the ATCS. And if you want a window, I think CM does sell a windowed panel for the case. I think they offered a window variant a while back, but I can't find it anywhere now.

I wouldn't really call the P182 a premium case, if that's what you're suggesting. Don't get me wrong - it's nice (I love my P182 SE), but the quality isn't quite up to par with Silvestone or Lian Li, IMO. The construction on the P182 is superb as far as panels fitting, etc., but there's far too much plastic for my taste. The air flow is also mediocre compared to similar-sized cases.

Then again, I've turned into an aluminum junkie these days. Hell, I stopped using my FT02 due to the depth of the case (primarily), and the fact that they use a good amount of steel (and a bit of plastic). The FT01, in comparison, is almost completely aluminum and just seems to have a more premium feel.

In regards to the ATCS 840, HAF 932 / HAF X, etc., I'd put the build quality on par with Antec. It's good, but it's not quite as good as the top (expensive) manufacturers. There are numerous complaints about the ATCS's side panels being quite flimsy and bowing when removed, partially due to the case's size no doubt. I believe the mic and headphone jacks also come with their colors erroneously switched. I wouldn't let all of that dissuade you, though, as for the price the case is hard to beat. I can't speak for Corsair, though.

Ah....I thought by looking at the pic in the OP that....that particular case came already painted black inside. Well...obviously it doesn't. So that one is out.

And in no way was I "stating" that the P182 is a premium case. But it wasn't exactly cheap either, and is an excellent case. Yes there is some plastic built in, but still very nice imo.

I did look at the Lian Li cases, and while they are nice cases, they are a bit out of the price range that I plan on spending on a case since I already am pushing the budget some with Ashley.

The Lian Li PC-V1200B is nice as well, but the price is up there a little as well.

What about these "new" Dark Fleet Antec cases....Anyone have any experience with those ? I seen one guy state....Holy mother of muffins that thing is ugly. But I think it looks decent.

Decisions decisions....

I would definitely go for the ATCS 840 out of those three cases :>

HAF 932 has that annoying look, and the Obsidian is too expensive. ATCS has the sleek look and the good features.

What about the Silverstone Raven ?

Anyone here have any experience with this case ?

I've build two rigs in it, and have commented in a few other threads. Bottom line, especially for what it's being offered at on Newegg ($140 last I checked), it's fantastic. The cooling performance is great, built quality is good, and there's plenty of room for cable routing. I can provide pics of my completed system if you'd like.

SilentPCReview posted a favorable review:
http://www.silentpcreview.com/Silverstone_Raven_Two

Only two concerns - the power button is easy to accidentally push (although I haven't done this since I completed my build) and the hard drive cage is hard to remove conventionally after installing a motherboard (have to slide it out the front).

At least for single-video card setups, I don't see any other case beating this one when it comes to air cooling (I've heard of people having trouble with SLI, etc., as there is no fan blowing directly on the video cards as in some other cases).

I remember reading that they might produce that color combination. I'm not normally one for flashy cases, but red/black always gets me. Looks pretty damned good.

I like FT02, but they made a step back from FT01 since they changed from unibody aluminum to steel :p -- too heavy. I'll be keep FT01

FT02 is still a better case then the FT01 as far as noise/ease of use/aircooling. Who cares how much it weighs unless you're for some reason lugging it around all day everywhere.

By the way good call on the Black/Red, since its the only FT02 that ships with the new AP fans. Such a nice case. probably the best stock air-cooled case right now.
