I've lost my sense of smell

No seriously... I used the home depot Zep Mold & Mildew Stain Remover on the grout and it's the strongest chlorine product I've ever come in contact with... it was f'ing intense.. My eyes were burning... I had to leave and catch my breath a few times, with the window open!

Anyway... everyting smells like the pool now.. and I even tried a nice blue cheese my wife bought me and it tasted like paper..

Wonder when my sorely overtaxed olfactory organs will regenerate 🙁

Lesson: Be careful with cleaning products... that crap's intense.

yeah, cleaning products can be very toxic. Next time, have plenty of fresh air (opened window) and a mask of some sort.

I've used that stuff myself and I've got to agree with you. It is absolutely brutal. I mean wow. Everything tastes like white after using it.

I feel for you. I'm super sensitive to chlorine.

I used be sick for a whole day after swimming in an over chlorinated pool, like a high school pool. My eyes would water continuously too.

my old chem teacher lost her sense of smell permanently using HCL in college. I hope you don't have the same problem. I'm surprised you werent supposed to dilute it.

Ugg. Organic chemistry labs smell horrible. Solvents ftl.

Can't be worse than old-school lemon scent Oven Cleaner. (Basically 98% Lye) That stuff makes me sick to my stomach...

At least that's all that happened to you -- I cleaned my bathroom yesterday as well, using Soft Scrub (with bleach). I was wheezing like crazy. Woke up this morning and my chest was still tight. Stupid bathroom has no ventilation. :|

You'll all be relieved to know that after clearing some enormous congestion, I was able to smell and taste my coffee and bagel.

I was going to have indian buffet, but I think I'll skip it and go easy on my poor nose for the day.
🙂

Which is precisely why I don't use those products to clean my bathroom.
