Now I know you guys say you lose a bunch of water weight first, but would you say that after 30 days I'm gonna start to hit the fat reserves?

I couldn't have lost all water.

My GF says I have less of a gut and I can do my belt up another notch.

nothing but a change in diet.

I'm eating 6 healthy meals, around 1500-1800 calories per day (estimate).

I keep trying to get to the gym, but I keep running into obsticles like getting school work finished. Lately I've just been buying computer hardware :)

that's commendable. i don't think i could do it - i love fast food so much. people can obviously get addicted to fast food eh? i think i might be.

strangely though, when i eat a salad, it's DAMN good too. the little tomatoes & carrots. mmm. and ranch - yes please. caesar's are great too. i am getting a gut but part of me says it's the natural progression of the male body. :) thanks to Homer for that image. :p

nice, keep up with it so you dont gain it all back. and remember all it takes is 30 minutes a day for a run to help you lose even more weight and get in better shape.

You were losing fat before 30 days. Water loss varies and will be higher if you're a low carb fanatic. Hopefully you're not losing too much muscle tissue, make it to the gym and lift weights.

Keep on going, in some ways it will get harder from here, but in another way you already crossed the biggest hurdle by far -- getting started and keeping it going for more than 3 days.

i was amazed at how much water weight I lost in my first workout. After the workout I went in the locker room, and I had to tighten my belt to get my jeans back on. I'm in a lot better shape now though, lost about 10 pounds then started putting on muscle and then started trimming again from 190 to 175. Still have the gut though, it juts doesn't want to go.

Try a gastrointestinal bypass. It made a cousin of mine lose weight at a rate of 5LBs every 4 days. He's down 144LBs to 160LBs now (stable). It involves a loss of your small intestine and your stomach being reduced to 2oz (will eventually grow back to 8oz)

I lost 15 pounds in about 7 days a few weeks ago.

Of course, all I had to do was get mono and have my throat swollen to the point where I couldn't drink but a sip of water every few minutes without feeling like I was choking to death, and didn't have anything but one whole can of tomato soup for a 3 day stretch of it. But hey, I'm back on the healthy side again and so far the weight has stayed off.

 :p

It's a bet...

I'll mark it on my calendar.

I'd like to lose another 6-8 lbs by that time. (less if I add some muscle).
