Ive inherited this cutting edge geee four processor mac :) Woo! Its single cpu 1.25ghz which i believe is the 2003 model G4. Theres a few problems though, no hard drive and the cd drive is busted apparently. So my questions are:

1. Can i just bung in any ATA hard drive and DVD drive? Its not like it needs special hardware, "superdrive" is just an advertising thing yeah?

2. I dont have it in hand to look at yet, but can it use 2 processors? I know it only has 1 but arent all the mobos inside these G4's the same?

3. Why arent there any G4 cpus on ebay? Theres hundreds of old pentiums etc.

Thanks

1: Any ATA drive should work just fine. I don't think the industry had transitioned to SATA yet.
2: I know there were some dual socket G4 boards, but I do not know if they all could.
3: That question is a little too existential for me :)

1) Apple start use SATA on G5, so all G4 still PATA, and most drive on the market should work
2) there are some Dual G4 model available. but mostly single CPU board will only have single slot for the CPU. so would be able to add 2nd CPU
3) cause there is not many G4 sell alone. either with the System or as an upgrade kit for G4
