Thank God I'm married and still interested in chicks, or I'd question my sexuality. ;)

Last weekend, while in Charlotte, my godfather invited us to see Mamma Mia!, a play with ABBA music, which I enjoyed tremendously.

Ever since then, I've had ABBA songs on my brain 24 hours a day. On the way home from MBA classes tonight, I actually picked up a copy of ABBA Gold. To think, I used to make fun of my discoing suitemate in college for listening to the same music.

Like I said, I hit rock bottom. :)

My wife supports the purchase. She was actually excited by it. :)

Oh god the nightmares of my college days! :Q :Q :Q

My freshman year in college, the guy who lived next door to me in the dorms was gay. Whenever ABBA was playing, it meant he was getting jiggy wit it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those were my memories too...except my suitemate wasn't admittedly gay. :)

When he would get drunk, he would hop up as soon as he heard disco music and dance (like in Airplane!) to the party.

My mother saw it a while ago with my aunt and they both absolutely loved it and talked about it for weeks! My father was jealous and wanted to see it after than...

I like ABBA - some of the most sugary pop music ever written. Don't worry, it's scientifically formulated to MAKE you like it. One simply can't resist those catchy tunes, clever lyrics, glorious harmonies..... muahahaha! Just go ahead and admit it, you like it!

Although "Mamma Mia" is a crappy song IMO.

Say it isn't so.

Actually my wife and a gay co-worker went to see this about six months ago. They both liked it.

ABBA rocks.

Best ABBA moment: I'm at an Incubus concert @ Universal Amphitheater in Hollywood and they play ABBA during the break between the opening act and Incubus. My friend and I both realize we know all the songs, at which point a few people around us start heckling us for being too young to know ABBA.

So when you're near me
Darling, can't you hear me?
S.O.S.
The love you gave me
Nothing else could save me
S.O.S.

You don't like mamma mia? That's one of my favorites!

My absolute favorite is "Lay All Your Love on Me." It's just too eerie not to like. :)

Scientifically formulated...heh

A rhetorical question If I ever seen one.

You should change your nick to Dancing Queen. ;)

Maybe just my member status. :)

My wife would laugh if anyone put dancing anywhere near my name. It was because of me that we had no dance floor at our wedding. :)

Hmm, I was just trying to formulate a good reason for why I like some of their songs but not others.... but I really can't come up with anything coherent. Here's a list of some likes and dislikes, see if you can discern a pattern:

Like:
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
Voulez-Vous
Take a Chance on Me
The Winner Takes It All
Eagle
Knowing Me, Knowing You
Summer Night City
On and On and On
Visitors
early stuff on their 4-disc box set like
Love Isn't Easy (But it Sure is Hard Enough)
People Need Love (written with a Swedish-English dictionary, mind you! You wanna talk about some cheesy lyrics! :D)
Hej Gamle Man

Dislike:
Waterloo
Dancing Queen
Mamma Mia
I Have a Dream
Elaine

I'm sort of indifferent to "Lay All Your Love On Me". I guess I mostly like the stuff that's kind of techno-ish.
