Are these jobs readily available? Can just anyone take it (presuming you can type fast), or do you need certain "qualifications"? Secondly, can this be done at home?

We have a data entry dept at my job. They are the lowest paid in the company. All they do really is re-key ocr'd data from forms to a database. Sure they are quick but it's a horribly boring job. Maybe you are thinking about another type of data entry.

yep, BORING is the key word, I used to do it for a temp agency, every couple of months there would be medical testing data to input, and i would work from like 5pm to 10pm for a couple of weeks straight (this is when I was still in college). i'm glad it never lasted over 2 weeks....

and i doubt you'll find a place that will allow you to do it from home

...and Mexico. Pennsylvania has, however, a distributed data-entry program in place for processing state income tax returns by U.S. workers at home. I have a link to the program at work. My company studied the concept for a contract. In fact, we are still studying the concept for other state government projects.

I've heard you can make alot of money doing this. I had a friend that went to school to do this and she sits at home doing this part time and pulls in better than 40k.
