I've gotten two new email viruses...not sure if they are related or not

Yesterday a Spanish teacher at my school (that I've never had, wonder how she got my email addy - maybe a forward that i sent to some ppl) - sent me a Spanish worksheet as the body of the message, with a blank to field. A file named subjuntivo.exe was attached

Today I got an email from a friend of mine, which looks like the beginning of a paper. Again, blank to field. This time a file named airplane.pif was attached.

I didn't run either of these files, although I did preview the message..am I okay? Looks like the virus is taking text from word documents (possibly last one used?) I've never gotten a virus via email before (not even I love you 🙁), so its odd to be broken in 🙂
