They go through really quickly so i couldnt tell what the errors were, but im99% certain they were not the same ones every time.

i run windows vista, and i know vista has had some issues with this.. but the last message said:

APC_Index_Mismatch

Does anyone know whats going on with this one, maybe i can address these problems as they crop up

Post full system specs, including brand & model of the memory modules, and the voltage you've been running them at if you know it.

The memory voltage is set in the motherboard's BIOS menus, and some RAM likes a bit more than what motherboards might provide if they're left on AUTO. Your RAM is spec'ed for 2.0 volts, which is 0.2 volts beyond the "standard" 1.8 volts for DDR2, so you may need to raise the voltage to get it stable.

Also, some RAM is simply faulty upon arrival. If you get a variety pack of BSODs, one or the other of these issues could be a cause. To find out, make a Memtest86 CD, boot the computer from it, and let it run its diagnostic tests overnight. Memtest86 loops through a series of tests over and over until you turn the computer off, and shows how many "passes" it ran and what your pass/fail score is (you want 100% passing).

Uncheck "Automatically restart on system failure", you can find that by right clicking my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery. Now it will display the BSOD until you hit the power button.

Ok so i changed the voltage for the ram to 2.0V. I cant run memtest yet bc i didnt buy any cdrs, i only have dvdrs and i dont wanna waste a dvd for that.. ill go pick some up today.

hopefully this voltage change is a step in the right tdirection

Debug/dump, and send the logs to a few people on this forum, they are good at that! I forgot some of them already, they know who they are :)

All this sounds hardware-ish to me, but if you like, take a few minutes to read my web page, and go ahead and debug your memory dumps. That will point to the problem. Once you've done an 'analyze -v' in the debugger, post the output here (from a few of the memory dumps; you should have lots).

You have 4GB of RAM and you're using Vista. If you're using the x64 version of Vista, adding 4GB of RAM can make it unstable with certain hardware configurations.

Take out one of your DDR SDRAM sticks and see if the computer is more stable. If it is, try swapping them. If it's still stable, it's some kind of incompatibility between Vista and 4GB. There's a hotfix available but I can't seem to find it.

You have a debugger now on your machine. There's no point in a screenshot -- the debugger is worlds better. Debug the most recent dump.

The first dump you posted says there's a problem in npfs. The chance there's actually a problem in that (Microsoft) library approaches zero. Are all your dumps pointed to npfs.sys? Open them all.

how do i open them all, i only went to that one file in ur instructions and thats what came up. no this one did not have npfs, but in a different location said netio.sys

If I had to guess I'd say you have a CPU issue, based on the error that I see and the information the debugger says.

So, confirm you have the latest BIOS updates. Jump on ABIT's site and confirm you have the very latest.
Confirm you have all offered XP / Vista updates (at Windows Update, do them ALL... ALL of them - optional and required, critical, EVERYTHING. Drivers too.)

Do all the dumps you've got have the same information, or are they different? What do the others say, if they're different?

im gonna run memtest very soon ive been really busy im sorry..

i took one stick out and am running only one stick of ram right now.. i havent had a BSOD since.. if i go a full day without one what do you think this means? would upgrading to 64bit vista fix the problem?

ill also switch the sticks in a couple of days to see if the other stick generates a problem if this one doesnt to see ifits just one stick messing up if that is the issue at all.

Are these sticks of memory identical, i.e. the same brand and model#? I have seen many times where a user will add a double-sided module to a system that has a single-sided stick in it and it will give very weird error messages. Same thing with different manufacturers and/or models. It's kind of like putting AC and Autolite spark plugs in the same engine . . . in theory, they are the same, but in reality they really aren't.

If your memory is matched, is it running in duel-channel mode? Depending on the motherboard, some want single-sided in (for example) slots 1 and 3 and two-sided in 2 and 4.

yeah i bought the sticks together, came in same package, if u look at the firs tpost theres alink to my rig and a link to the patriot memory bundle

its now been 24 hrs without a crash since i took one stick out, im going to run intensive operations all night tosee if i can duplicate the problem. If it doesnt happen ill switch the sticks tomorrow and see if it happens with the other stick.

also, i got memtest86, but i dont have a floppy drive, how do i use this?

You can download a .ISO of Memtest86 and burn it to a CD or DVD using, say, Nero Express. Right-click the .ISO file and open it with Nero Express and that works, if I recall correctly.

great ill run that when i wake up tomorrow, im dead tired

although not a single crash in the last 30 hrs since i removed the second stick
ill run memtest on this stick tomorrow and then switch em

This motherboard has known issues with memory that requires more than 1.8v. Maybe up the voltage more?
