I've got to have OCD...

So I'm going through all my MP3s after ripping some more from my CD collection onto my hard drive and I'm going crazy about the way they're set up. I guess I just like the way the "Artist Name - Song Title format" looks. Any song that doesn't have it gets changed and it's ID3 tag gets edited.

No, you don't have OCD. OCD is a mental disorder in which it causes great distress to a person. You usually obsess and then have to do a compulsion to relieve the anxiety that accompanies the obsession.

I have OCD, and it really sucks, or it used to at least. I'm like 110% better than I ever was before. I take an SSRI for my OCD.

you want OCD? i have severe OCD (not diagnosed by anyone other than myself of course)

if stuff is in the wrong place after someone else uses it, it drives me up the wall and i want to ring their neck for not putting it back how they got it

now that kinda stuff is OCD

RossMAN, hardly doubt? correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't hardly = barely, or not much? but i do agree with u 🙂

EDIT: oh yea, and TrueBlueLS, looks like u might have/be stepping on some toes, maybe a change in thread title is in order? and ur just passionate about music(or it looks like it) it's good having hobbies other than ATOT. 😉

I have OCD as well.

I have to touch an object a certain amount of times before I can walk away. I am always counting as well. I can control it when people are around and when I really try too.

Your just being organized.

Believe me you don't want OCD.

Don't you mean obsessive-compulsive personality disorder? OCD is a bit less...voluntary, so to speak.

Perhaps it's OCPD. Totally different than OCD though. What JHill just posted above is an example of one type of OCD. OCd branches off into all kinds of things.

At work, I try to pat down like 500-1000 sheets of paper so that not even one sheet sticks out...wipe down the desks with sanitizer...unstaple 10-20 sets of papers and staple them again...etc...coworkers think Im nuts

At home though, I turn into a slob

How do I edit this tag? Like you, I like all my MP3s using the same naming convention. I have two "sets" of MP3s (all 256kbps, CBR) but some have the "wrong artist/track/number/title" order. I want to fix. How?

you mean the ID3 tag? Just load up the mp3 in winamp or something and right click on the song, and click "file info"

Thanks, Brudda. how do I do this in WMP? That's all I use. (v 7.1, of course)

Let me rephrase this; How can I change them, en masse, instead of one-by-one. I have almost 3,000 MP3s.
