I've got junk faxes and I'd like to sue in pursuant to applicable laws, but how?

How much work does it take to identify and escalate it to civil court?

I'm in Oregon and apparently, I am entititled to suing for $500 to $1500 per violation. I got two junkmails today and if I can sue them, I can pocket myself $1,000 to $3,000.

From what I hear, there's a guy who publish his fax # and makes living off of taking legal actions against junk fax senders.

The "to remove" number that came with these faxes are 800-766-0816, apparently pretty well known.

One is for Work from Home junk and the other is stockmarket thingl.

I forget, but I think if it has it's CSID it's well within the law.
If not, it of course would be harder to find out who sent it but that would be punishable under the law.

I'd like to know if there's a similar law in CA. We get anywhere from 3-8 of these a day and it gets real annoying.

there is, it is illegal to send junk faxes. I can find out who to contact for you tomorrow, shoot me a pm if your interested.

also, the ones that we were getting, different ads and places, but all had same tele # to call to get your name removed blah blah kind of crap. You can sue them, we just called that # and explained how it was illegal, havnt gotten another one since...
