I've got a question about using Windows 2000 and Voodoo3

I just installed Windows 2000 on top of Windows 98SE (not a complete clean install). Anyway, I'm using a Voodoo3 3000 AGP and for some reason now I can't adjust the video overlay settings in 3dfx Tools. The video overlay selection is greyed out, so I can't even select it. I tried the Windows 2000 drivers and the Windows 98 drivers that I was using, and I still can't seem to get it to work. I really like the feature because my videos all have different contrast, brightness, color, etc. Does anyone know how to get this to work?

I´m running w2k clean install with a v3 pci. My Games are ALL 60hz.
That is for EVERY API(Direct3d, GLIDE and OpenGL).

Are your games 60hz as well? How can I fix this?

Well, when I finished installing Win2k I noticed that my refresh rate had been changed to 60Hz. I changed it to 85Hz and didn't think too much about it. I loaded up Unreal Tournament and I did notice that something with the display was not right. My eyes seemed to strain more to play the game. I assumed it just had something to do with the new drivers and the frame rates. It never occured to me that maybe I'm having the same problem you're having with the 60Hz refresh rate in games. It seems fine now; either I've done something to fix it or my eyes have just gotten used to it. Also, how do you know that you're getting a 60Hz refresh rate in your games? I assumed that the game's refresh rate will just be the same as what you have your display properties set at. Is there a way to check the refresh in a game?

The easiest way to adjust the refresh rate in Win2k for D3D games is to go into DXDIAG.

Just goto run & type "dxdiag" then goto "More Help" tab,then goto override,now add the refresh rate you like,I myself made it 85.

Now when i play a D3D game it automaticaly defaults to 85HZ.

Just use the OSD of your monitor to check refresh rates.
