Question 1
I've got 4 L4D2 servers on my box, and a TF2, and one L4D server.

Only 2 out of my 4 L4D2 servers show up in my browser under the LAN tab...my TF2, and L4D1 server show up fine as well.

They are all on different ports. People can connect to the other two, they just don't show up in my browser, any reason why?

Question 2
Using console in the lobby doesn't seem to work for me and a few others, even though it works in game...is this going to be permanent? I want to use my servers, and I can't without console in the lobby.

Question 3
L4D2 is unplayable online, if I host a game locally it's fine, but when I join any server the game stutters like crap. It seems very odd..L4D2 DEMO worked fine.

As far as question 3 goes, I believe it's a dedicated server issue. Most of the dedicateds I've joined have had pings in the 200s. Maybe something wrong with the server client? Maybe just crappy servers?

I was at a LAN with a few people, roughly the same computer, and they are fine, no stuttering, but any online game stutters like heck for me.

Hmm, I'm wondering about the l4d2 ded server too, how the heck do you connect to a specific server without a console? It used to be ms_connect_dedicated server or something, but console doesn't come up anymore in the Lobby...

So it's not just me and my friends.

The people on steampowered forums were saying they could still do it...no idea.

Hey, Vivi, I found this, thought you might want:

Updated for L4D2

While there is currently a bug (at least we think it's a bug) where nobody can open console within the lobby, you CAN enter the above commands into the console BEFORE you enter the lobby and it should allow you to connect. We attempted this tonight but unfortunately all four servers were full so it cannot be verified. But word on the street is that it does work. The only problem is that if you cannot connect to the designated server, you will have to leave, enter the command, and create a new lobby to change the server.

Also, you can bind the commands themselves to a key and hit them from lobby...

example: bind "F8" "mm_dedicated_force_servers 66.150.221.87:27018,66.150.221.87:27017,66.150.221.87:27016,66.150.221.87:27015"

NOTE THAT YOU CAN ENTER MULTIPLE SERVERS ON ONE LINE!!! NO NEED TO BIND 4 KEYS. IF ONE IS UNAVAILABLE IT WILL GO TO THE NEXT.

Question 3

I think its the POS Valve servers.
They must be running crap 486 from the 80's.

Being serious, yeah i noticed this shutter your talking about.
And im seriously thinking its the servers.

I should try hosting the game on my main and see if that fixes anything for my friends and me.
But im feeling this pain with you, and i think im running really high end hardware.

So its definitely not hardware issues.

In console, I noticed pause/unpausepause/unpausepause/unpausepause/unpausepause/unpausepause/unpausepause/unpause

constantly, so I reset all my keys and it doesn't stutter anymore, it just lags a bit, even on my 260GTX, doesn't make sense! The demo worked great, maxed out.

single player works great max'd out.

At first i thought i was actually gpu limited. So i had to throw on the second X2 i didnt want on.

Noticed it didnt help anything, so i went to single player, and man, the game is fast and shutter free WHEN I DONT PLAY ON A SERVER.

The moment I online coop.. BAM.. i see shutter all over the place.

yeah, single player works amazingly, but any server seems to be slower, and crappier, shrug.

I'll stick with MW2 I guess, 'til this is fixed.

I haven't bene able to actually play L4D2 yet :(

the maps are hugh.

Its been a while since i got lost in a L4D map.

But yeah, im constantly getting lost, but then again ive only had the game for 3 days, and ive only played it like 1 hour a day.

MW2 multiplayer BLOWS. Horrible, horrendous... the game didnt take longer then 48 hours to see wall hackers and aim botters.

At least in L4D2 when they hack, u dont care as much unless its VS. But in coop, i could care less if he hacked. Better survival rate for me, and less chance of FF from him.
