These drive cages nowadays that come in computer cases seem to have these rubbergrommets to dampen sound and I was wondering, what type of screw should I be using with this? Most of the screws I try to use with this really don't work as they're to short and can't reach the drive so I was wondering what screw I should use to that it can reach the drive properly? Are these specialty screws or something?

The case should have come with long screws that have a threaded part at the tip, then a smooth part above that.

The cage should have grommets on either side of it - i.e. one between the screw head and the cage, and another between the cage and the HD. Otherwise it's pretty much the same as not having grommets at all.

Yes you must use shanked screws or you will pull it down and negate the acoustic benefit of the grommet. The case should include them.
