If you break off two pins on the direct opposite side of where there are those two missing pins, will the processor still function? And if you tried to turn on the machine with the processor in the reverse direction, will it fry the motherboard or the processor?

I hope you aren't being serious..it is possible that the CPU will still function with a couple of broken pins, however if you managed to a actualy force it in to the socket the wrong way..most likely toasted...

I dont think you'll get the cpu in the wrong way round unless you take off the 'excess pins'.

I really don't think that you are gonna get any good news out of doing that.
STOP LAUGHING FELLAS

You might, if you are lucky, not cause a fire.
Also, you might, if you are lucky, not damage the mobo - although i think you would, and just about everything else plugged into it.
Its not APRIL 1st is it?
doh!

Um I don't think anything in the machine is bad but the processor. I will not know though until the processor I ordered ships. I didn't smell anything burning, it didn't act funny and when I tried to turn it on, nothing happened so...

The only thing that is concerning me is the fact the power light for the computer is on when I plug in the power supply (Cord going from wall into computer).
