At my house we've got lycos' free one. It's alright but it brings up the "Just checking to make sure your still there. Please click on a window...."

That kind of stinks

Yeah...alta vista was a good one. 1st up is going out of business...which does alta vistas free isp. 1st up is also the simpsons...so i think the simpsons should cease free internet services soon too. The company that provides bluelight free internet is in deep trouble so they should be gone soon too.

Bah. I've never used a free ISP. Tried a few times, never got through.

But if you insist on a freebie, try Juno. I used them for e-mail for quite some time (I was one of the first accounts there on opening day :)), they're fairly reliable for internet service too I guess.

excite.com offers a free isp also...called freelane

P.S. powerbar.com offers 1stup.com also so they will probably fold as well

It's hard to find any free ISP without annonying banner. The best thing you can do is diabling their banners and keeping creating new accounts every week.

I like winfire. Their toolbar is really small and has really good speed. I used to use it before I got my DSL setup.
