If I setup a Linux server for my 3 PC's: Win2k, WinME and Win98SE will I have problems using SAMBA? I've heard there may be incompatibility problems? Fact or Fiction?

If you install linux you'll probably have problems. If you upgrade samba to the latest version you'll fix them.

The only problem I know of has to do with using unencrypted passwords versus encrypted passwords. Other than that, I have yet to see any real problems with running SAMBA with any MS OS so far.

Do you have NetBIOS running on WinXX machines? Seems odd that you would have problems, SAMBA is awsome.

It should be pretty simple if you use SWAT to set Samba up. However, regarding Win2k accessing the system, you must read the document "ENCRYPTION.txt" that comes with the Samba release. There is a procedure you need to do to get NT 4.0 SP4 and above (this includes Win2k) to work with Samba.
