I've got 2 pc's and 1 is faster than the other on the net

I've got 2 pc's here , my main pc - Windows XPSP2 tests 2476 Kbps down and 664 kbps up. My Windows 2003 Server tests 1886 kbps down and 664 kbps up on the same site (speedtest.cogeco.net). Both tests were run after clean boots. I usually access my server through terminal services and ran the test on my 2k3 pc through Terminal services( which i don't think should have any effect ).

Both machines are using the Nforce on board LAN and are relatively similiar. My server is an Athlon XP 1800+ and my main pc is an oc'd 2500 +.

Besides spyware and/or viruses what could be the possible causes ? Both pc's are attached to my netgear router via cat5e ethernet cabling.

Spidey , If you could take the time to explain to me why it would be slower in terminal services I'd appreciate it. I'm not disputing what you've told me (I don't know enough about netowrking to dispute anything you say), I'm just simply curious.

Just to specify , I'm running TS in remote administration mode.

I'm not an expert on Terminal Services so I'm sure there are other things I'm missing, but for starters, the resources (CPU and otherwise) being used on the server to support your terminal connection can certainly have an effect on any tests you run on the server. Also, the bandwidth you are using to access the terminal server will have an effect on the test results as well.
