A while back I made a thread about whether or not you would participate in a PET scan for $200 given the risks involved. Anyway, most everyone said I would be an idiot not to, so I went ahead and did it and cashed my check. Well, I just received a call today asking me if I wanted to be a regular test subject. Since every experiment needs a control, I would be called up whenever they started a new experiment. Apparently I'm boring and plain enough to be the ideal negative control against psychotics. What this involves is an interview asking me questions like "Do you ever feel the compulsion to inflict bodily harm on yourself" and "What year are we in right now?" and for me to do stupid tasks like "please draw a triangle on this pad of paper". And they're gonna pay me $25-$50 for each interview. Since I'm a control patient, I would need to be interviewed every time they want to use me as a control just to make sure I haven't become completely psychotic in the 2 weeks since they last interviewed me. On top of that, I get paid $400 for any scan of my head they want to do. This is great since I can usually do most of this stuff just during my lunch break or whenever. I guess working at a medical school does have it's perks.
