I've decided on a Powershot S400.

After some studying I decided on this camera. My wife will be using it at least as much as I will.

Any final warnings or very similar alternatives before I buy it tomorrow?

Good choice. I have an S230 and compactness rules!

If you are an avid photographer looking to experiment with more features though, I'd look elsewhere. If you want a compact, light, quality camera with decent fatures to boot, you made the right choice.

s45 or s50. Canon Underwater case ROCKS! (Although there probably is one for the s400)

Awesome choice!

My only advice is, DO NOT PAY RETAIL!

I plan on paying $449 at Circuit City tomorrow. Is that a reasonable price considering that I prefer to shop brick -n- mortar?

BuyDig sells the S400 for $369.

(Compared to Best Buy which sells it for $449.99.)

Edit: BuyDig has a 4.5/5 star review with 4314 reviews from pricegrabber.com.

I beat your price, RossMAN :)

I'd rather buy from NewEgg vs BuyDig.

/me emails you a cookie :)

I love cookies!

There's nothing wrong with BuyDig :)

White Macadamian Nut cookies are one of my weaknesses :)

I own the original s100 (loved it), s110, and when they flood with s200/s230 / s400. I figure it was too fast for me to upgrade. I'll be getting my for x-mas and it'll be one sweet upgrade :) I love these canons..

I was thinking of the sd100 ? the secure digital model but i think ill stick with the CF ones..

I think new egg price is 397. I never bought from buy dig but i never hard bad things about them

the box never comes shrink wrap so you'll never know whats missing

$429 for executive?

?

I would advise against buying accessories at BuyDig or any other site like it. Go to newegg for things like CompactFlash :)

BuyDig sells that 128MB card for $59. Newegg sells it for $27 (SimpleTech).

(Best Buy sells their 128MB SanDisk CF card for $59.99 as well.)

Is there any reason why it seems like ppl. here don't really buy from BuyDig? I've constantly seen their prices to be pretty low, yet I don't recall ever seeing them mentioned in Hotdeals, unless it was to pricematch. Their user rating is high as well.

Have you held the camera in your hand?
I looked at the S series, but I didn't like the way they felt in my hand. I definitely preferred the feeling of the A series cameras. But I don't really care about being able to put it in my pocket, so that may be a deciding factor for you.

The accesories don't really seem like a good deal.
I'm guessing the reason places like BuyDig and Beach Camera have the lowest prices is that they make most of their money on the accessories. They seem to push those kits pretty hard.
