Ok, maybe im just bitter cause ive had a run of bad luck lately but this just seems a little too weird to me...
I started playing monopoly on playsite a month or two ago... I was off to a great start, about 25 wins or 2nd places in a row (in 3 person games) so i had built up a high rating.. I had a couple (1 or 2) losses in there, but not many. As soon as i hit 30 rated games, my rating began plummeting... I would come in 3rd or 2nd all the time. Needless to say by 58 games my rating was mushy poop. In that entire span from game 30 to game 58 i never won a single one. Now i didnt like what i was seeing, so i decided to create a new name to try and redeem myself... Started off nicely with alot of wins again and a few second places and losses. My rating this time was around the same if not higher than the first time. Sure enough when i hit 32 or 33 games it started again. Lost nearly every one in a row until i hit around 44 at which point i gave up.
Now if anyone knows some things about monopoly, they know that the whole game is pretty much dependant on the roll of the dice and how "nice" it is to you. But there were times in which i wouldnt land on ANYTHING i could buy, i would encircle the board at the beginning landing on chance, community chest, other peoples spaces, free parking, etc... (Things i cant buy) Doin this 2 times in a row at the beginning is basically a very bad harbinger of things to come. I would say this happened to me 4-5 times total on each name i used. Sorta hurting my ego a tad... The rest of the games would just send me to jail at least 5-6x as many as the other players.
Does anyone know if the dice on playsite.com are truly random (hell, any of the games), or if they just let cha win when your starting to build your confidence then knock ya down to even it out a little.... ???
