I've come to a conclusion.

Life is just a really complex program. People are no more alive than any other computer program, we are merely complex enough that we haven't been duplicated in software- yet.

Life is just a giant MMO, except we are all NPCs, and there are no players.

It's called the Matrix, foo. Hurry up and take the red pill. I already have and know kung fu. Whoa.

Why is this a conclusion and not a hypothosis?

If it was testable, I would call it a hypothesis until I could perform the tests to prove it.

Unfortunately it's not testable, so you all just have to trust me.

So THAT is why I have this giant gold exclamation point sitting above my head...

It all makes sense now.

No dammit. We're holographic projections of things happening in the 4th dimension. I was just starting to like that idea. YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT ON ME NOW!

So, are you saying then, that someone has to write this program called Life?...

Everybody knows God is the greatest programmer in all the universe!

So, who's paying God to write this program?

It's possible. Maybe the constraints we have (speed of light, absolute zero) are limits of the simulation?

What if those constraints are only artificial?

This also perfectly explains the "spooky" parts of quantum mechanics. If we don't observe a sub-atomic partical, it doesn't need to be simulated as such, but if we observe it the simulation needs to figure out exactly what to show us. This causes the quantum wave-function collapse.

yeah, but he just hacked it together in perl.

It is a story that keeps repeating itself. Sometimes you play the role of NEF, maybe next time you will be a mod. It is been this way through all of time.
