• We should now be fully online following an overnight outage. Apologies for any inconvenience, we do not expect there to be any further issues.

I've been working don't know if I can return to work...I am utterly scared.

My office started accepting workers back in the office this week. I have REFUSED to set foot onsite because of RISKS associated with the office setup.

I am totally afraid. We don't have a good way to properly bake freezer pizzas in the office because there's no REAL oven in the breakroom. Furthermore, all of the soda machines are stocked with Pepsi products.

I am USED TO DRINKING COKE WITH MY ALCOHOL now, be it rum or Maker's Mark. I can't mix anything with Pepsi.

Think they'll let me continue working in the nude at home? Or should I threaten to work in the nude in the office?

These are all things that weren't an issue before COVID. What should I do?

Pepsi and Coke are the same thing. Just take Pepsi and put it in the Coke can and you have the same thing.

Just strike for a real oven and Coca-Cola products. Not sure if you'll be happy with the end result if everyone gets to be nude, though.

My company told us to expect to work from home until at least end of summer. Happy with that news. They originally bucked at the idea of even letting us work from home but changed their tune. Downside is they still require at least 1 person in the office so we've been dragging our PC back and forth when it's our turn and putting in OT for the time taken to set it up. Now they're not liking the OT, so they might force us to share a workstation at the office. How is that better for avoiding spreading potential germs? Just let us all work from home period FFS. If something happens to the VPN we can be at the office in 10 minutes. But they won't budge and still want someone there all the time. Really annoying.

Problem with setting up a separate workstation too is our profile won't be the same. Basically need to reconfigure and resetup everything again.

i have an uncle who went back to work and is not too thrilled about it

one of his kids got covid and was as sick as they've ever been for 2 weeks, could hardly even move and took about 6 weeks to recover

he is the high risk age group and works with a bunch of hillbillies who think the whole thing is a hoax, so they don't take any precautions

it's kind of a crappy place so he said he might just quit if they keep giving him BS. supposedly has been thinking about retiring anyway.

Lucky for me, many of the people are still taking this seriously...especially because there area bout 17,000 people around my office area. There's obvious risk and potential for an outbreak. I'm just going to keep my head down as long as I can and keep working remotely.

Then my espresso must be superior?

There actually isn't that much caffeine in espresso. I think a simple cup of coffee can have 200mg, while an espresso shot is more along the lines of ~50mg

So unless you drink 4+ shots of espresso then you're not even getting as much as a cup of joe.

Is taking in your own toaster oven & coke not an option?

I used to like either but now i prefer coke. I've drank a few pepsi's the last several days as are pop machine is out of coke. I'll live.

I don't normally drink any kind of soft drinks. I do believe Coke is superior mixing to Pepsi because the cola taste is better...maybe not quite as strong?

Lately, I've been going through tonic water and fresh lime juice more than anything else.

I wash my hands, stopped taking titty money and limited my trade outs to the cleaner looking sort. Hell, stimulating checks are fixing to pay off the new townhouse.

I understand your anxiety. Take some deep breaths as you pour your next drink!

Try going commando as a baby step. Mix more Pepsi into your coffee cup so it doesn’t smell obviously like booze. Don’t forget the breath mints.

Make sure you occasionally cough convincingly and apologize to anyone nearby. Explain your child or significant other started coughing a few days ago. Say “I’m sure it’s no big deal”. People will be less likely to micromanage.

Finally, see if you can do a week in and a week out. Get way more done on your home week. Combine that with the cough on your in week. They’ll get the point.
