Over the last 24 hours, my browsing experience has been invaded by words underlined in orange, that highlight yellow on a mouse-over and offer to take me to some crap site that's vaguely associated with the word. For instance, the words modem and computer suggest "CLICK for the SPECIAL offers at IBM.com!" What the heck is this, and how do I turn it off? It's like Night of the Living Spam or something!

Some web site was youting this as a great deal I think it was like abc.com or maybe msnbc. I dont see how it could affect every web page though.

I just had the same thing happen to me, I had to go into the Registry and search for every file associated with the sight.
Look in your MSCOFIG file and see if their is a rundell startup file.
I had to check the box to make it go away.
This internet changing your browser files is going to far.
We need some stricter laws for the Spamers who do this.

this is caused by FlySwat, a browser add-on, just look in add/remove, you will be able to uninstall it :)

I'm thinking it must be something built into the browser... but I'm using IE5.5! I'm currently using NT4 but was on Win2kPro a couple of hours ago, with the same thing happening.

I just put Opera 5.11 on my PC, no little highlights there... Damn you Microsoft!!!

So, uh... how do I torch this? /Edit: I can't see anything suspicious in my Add/Remove Programs... no Flyswat at all.

Thanks GT, I downloaded AdAware and found the culprit: eZula. Now who the bloody %#$@ are they...

Man I'm so tempted to fire off an abusive email or two...
