I guess that's when you dump all of the data in the BIOS to a file to be read through a program. I've heard of core dumps (boo, hiss), stack dumps and memory dumps and they are all the same concept, so I'll assume that's what a BIOS dump is.

Hi, BIOS memory is just more memory, but is addressed differently. With the correct program you dump BIOS menory the same way you dump any memory. You might dump it to a file and reload it from that file if you have problems. Not really necessary today. Jim
 
Some might mean a CMOS dump when they say "BIOS dump" - CMOS memory saves the BIOS settings so that your machine remembers what it is when you power up. About the only worthwhile dump on PCs is a register dump during an error condition. But with a BIOS dump, one could compare the running BIOS with the version DLed from the mfr's web site to see if they match. A corrupt Flash ROM could cause weird problems
