okay, I have 512 mb GEIL pc400 value ram, and it does not work well with my mobo. I'm wondering if I buy 512 mb corsair pc400, will this make my problems go away(i hope this isn't a retarded question)? Should I just get rid of the GEIL ram?

Did you try bumping up the RAM voltage to about 2.7V already? Sometimes that helps.

It's not too hard. If you know how to get into your motherboard's BIOS menus (press the Delete key when it's starting up) then you're on the right track. Look at page 3-5 of your mobo's manual, see Frequency/Voltage Control? Enter that sub-menu, which is shown in detail on page 3-26, and change DRAM Vcore Adjust (V) to 2.7, then press Esc to exit the sub-menu, press the F10 key to save the settings and exit, and do a little stress testing to see if it's happier.

There are a lot more things you could try in the BIOS, such as the CPU/DRAM Frequency Ratio, but that's a start. Good luck Cartman2003 :)
