Our current laptop line is the HP nc6000. These have not been a lot of fun - the first round had the wireless button and light but no wireless card built in, and they also needed a BIOS update to fix serial port and touchpad issues. The second round had Toshiba hard drives that slowly died off one by one, this was a pain. The Fujitsus they sent as replacements worked fine, but when they started sending Seagates those wouldn't take our images.
Anyway it's getting time for a new rollout and our manager has asked me to look at the HP nc6300 series. I'd like input on these, pros and cons type feedback, and I'd like to also be able to present alternatives like the nc6230, or models from IBM and others.
What have been your experiences with these models, or any others you may suggest, and their support? What would you recommend for buying a few dozen of?
