I've become extraordinarily bitter

Well you see, I can consciously make the choice to bang a chick, but then my dick won't want to become erect when the time comes. I can yell at my dick and punish it, but it doesn't seem very effective.

I'm sure you get erections just fine with the thought of another mans cock in your mouth, but choose to not suck one. :awe:

Sure I could get a hardon while thinking of another dudes cock in my mouth, all I'd have to do was play with my dick. I could easily bang a dude, as well, if I chose to do so. I merely choose not to.

If you are unable to find a way to make your dick hard at will, then perhaps you should see a doctor.

Oh god a quote for the ages....

Let me tell you I can't get a hard on with the thought of a girls boob or vagina in my mind even if I play with my dick. If I did, it would be despite the thought, not because of it. And to do so, would mean I would have been hard regardless of the situation due to long gap from last copulation, which indicates an extreme lack of choice in the erection.

Do you know what the difference is between an aid versus a hindrance?

Why do you choose not too? What is stopping you?

I doubt anything is wrong with his dick. And the only reason yours would get hard while thinking of man on man porn is because you yourself would have to manually stimulate it, as you've said.

Is it impossible for a gay person to bang someone of the opposite sex? No. Then being gay is a choice.

Faulty conclusion. Being gay and committing a gay act are not the same thing.

In the past, many gay men married women and had children. This never made them straight, they were always gay.

Being gay is not a choice. Blowing your postman is.

Your problem is conditioning, not that you have no choice in the matter.

Being gay is a choice; it's merely a choice resulting of overcoming/failing to overcome conditioning/predisposition. You are also considering being gay as a sort of mindset rather than a result of actions, which is a clever way to mask defining it as a "preference" rather than a "choice." You can dislike vegetables, but still eat them. It doesn't mean you're still a person that doesn't eat vegetables because you've obviously performed a vegetable eating act, it merely means you prefer fruit.

Looking at sexuality as a preference rather than a representation of actions is inarguable, though still fallacious. I presume that those of you who remain ignorant perceive looking at it as a choice similarly. It's unfortunate that you are all unable to understand the difference, as actions are the defining factor of all labeling. I'll exit at this point of stasis since I think it's quite obvious there will be no acceptance of the facts I present.

Technically, the actions can be categorized as choices.

However, do we really have much of a choice when we become hungry? We eat. Thirsty, we drink. Horny? We have sex. Lonely? We long for company.

Choices crucial to human survival ( physical and psychological) is difficult to argue as a true choice, if abstinence ( and thus death or decline) is the only other option.

Yes, we dont really have a choice in the matter if we desire to be happy. Just like you probably wouldn't be too happy if you had to have sex with, sleep with, make love with, and live another man.

You are trying to tell me I can choose to be unhappy and lonely not fall in love, then yes, I can choose that. Just like you can choose to go jump off a bridge. I wonder why you haven't yet because your genes responsible for intellectual capacity are clearly not worth preserving in our human gene pool. ^_^

We're all gay to some degree or another. It's been clearly delineated again and again. Saying someone is gay or straight demonstrates about the same level of sophistication as saying someone is of a particular race.

At any rate, the Shakespeare is the most pertinent information in this thread.

This is also basically true. In fact, most behavioral traits ascribed to humans on a discrete, either-or basis actually exist along a continuum.

It's another reason intelligent people do nuance. 😉

Shakespeare is overrated. I saw midsummer nights dream a few weeks ago andwas shad such an uninteresting libretto, though britten was no composing genius either in my opinion.

That's actually fairly specious thought. It sounds good, but doesn't hold scientific water.

In reality, most people primarily pursue one or the other sex, even when they identify as bisexual.

Someone just came out of the closet. Congrats, I guess.

Can the bigoted gay debate be moved to it's own thread? Something like "Discuss mrjminer's gay-deology"?

We've totally jacked your thread but you get the point ... It's so much easier to be you isn't it, when mrjminers don't have to be questioning even your intent to pursue potential female mates 😀

Nothing you said gainsays the bolded.

In fact, your lone logical example tends to support it. 🙄

Shouldn't that be:
"In fact, most behavioral traits ascribed to humans on a discrete either or basis, actually exist along a continuum."?

Hmmmm, I don't think so. To my mind, "discrete" and the hyphenated compound descriptor "either-or" are both adjectives modifying the noun "basis," and so require a comma to delineate them.

Furthermore, the lack of said hyphen in your example could lead to wild grammatical confusion amongst the weaker minded. 😉

Grammatically, your version of the sentence makes "discrete" the adjective for both "either" (now a noun) and "basis," while making "or" a conjunction.

That way lies madness! 😱

Yes, I'm becoming bitter but not because of the same reasons as the OP, and neither I, nor the OP, should be bitter. Seems like life throws strange things at times.

Oh, and I haven't read much of this thread but the last page or so seems to have went all the hell.

<--- Shakes old, bitter head.

Bespeaketh thou now in tongues, for surely if thine tongue could torture ears more it would twist stump and root like black Kansas skies, and leave bloody the sewers of your dentist's fears?

What you don't see is all the dirt and shit the guys had to eat before they won that girl over.

You can't blame yourself. I know it's cliche and hard to swallow, but you really can't blame yourself. Your insecurity makes them insecure - it's just something you have to get over.
