I can only hope that not many others have the same experience but man have I become bitter at this point. It's gotten to the point where I see an attractive woman and then get upset because I will actually think of ways that she'll turn me down. I'll get upset when I see strangers get lucky. I get upset when I notice others sharing a seinfeld moment. Bullocks...

I thought these kind of feelings were reserved for when I get really old? Anyone have these feelings before? How did you get over it?
 
What is the circle in the bottom right of your avatar? Judging from the other three, you're mad ripped, capable of solving algebraic equations, and riddled with brain tumors. Based on these, I surmise that you need to focus less on your own personal advancement and more on developing your social skills. Maybe put a smilie face there or something.

I think the general consensus is that older people are happier than younger people; however, they all think that other old people are more bitter than young people - so they all think they are happier than when they were younger, but they also think they are the exception to the rule.
 
You sound like a friend of mine. He's so wrapped up in himself it's not funny. Get over yourself and get out there if you want someone. Don't even worry about getting a girl, just make some friends.

One thing that helps is to force yourself to smile.
Seriously.

It's one of the useful things I actually learned in Intro Psychology, the mind links smiling and being happy. Being happy causes you to smile, but the reverse can work: smiling can actually make you be happy too. YMMV
 
My 2 cents worth... It is easier to get laid as you get older. It never gets easier to form a relationship. The difference between dating at 25 vs 35 is that at 35 you are a lot more realistic. At 25 you're thinking marriage and kids... At 35-40 you're looking more at mutual interest and common identity.
 
You know what makes me bitter? I like Apple Fritters, and without fail every doughnut shop I go to puts what seems to be about a thumb nails worth of actual Apple in it. And without fail every time I go into a new doughnut store for the 1st time and order 1, I have my hopes up that it'll actually have a decent amount of Apple in it.

That does suck, like the crappy cinnamon rolls that most doughnut shops carry too. Kolaches are fucking badass though.

Turn down? Man, I can't say that I've ever played it in a way to be turned down.
There's layers of signaling and you don't go straight for the prize -- you go from side activity to side activity, trying to bring one into the fold. If the girl you were lookin' to hook takes an off ramp, it's no thing -- some other girl will get on.

You don't get to pick the girl. She picks you. If you concentrate on one girl you're gonna be sending off creepy vibes, so widen your view.

So you mean pursue different girls at once or offer a girl choices ranging from completely harmless to lets go shaguar?

There are even easier ways of sending creepy vibes lol... from personal experience. I just avoid showing interest for the most part now, less likely to be creepy then.

Lol, I don't know much about proper apple donuts but that does sound frustrating.

I have gotten this a LOT. From my friends and from people who I don't even know that well. I'm having difficulty figuring out exactly what that means though. So pretty much develop thick hide and not give a fuck about how you come off?

I know it might be hard to explain, some people know certain things by intuition, this completely escapes me.

I'm not sure what the last one is either. I kind of like it for that reason, it can be interpreted as anything. And yes, I do realize I need to develop social skills, it can be difficult and even frustrating when things backfire or just don't work out.

Just a couple minor thoughts:

1) Older people are far more secure than the young. In 10 years, you'll laugh at all the insecurities you have now as childish and inconsequential. Time gives you perspective.

2) It is clear you're not happy with yourself, and that is killing your opportunities with women. You need to work on yourself before you'll be able to track down women. The most important thing is to lose the fear of rejection. I remember someone posted a 30-day rejection challenge, where this guy went out with the explicit goal of being rejected for something every day for a month. What he found was that not only did he start to realize that being rejected wasn't so bad, but that it was getting harder to get people to turn him down.
