Well done for that, i really wished i made the deadline this year! I'll aim for next!

Just a few questions..

How much practice do you get for each event? Do you practice with the gladiators or what?

Are the Gladiators, especially Oblivion that much of an asshole when the cameras are off?

Lastly, What happened on the travelator? Obviously at home i can sit and say that looks easy whats wrong with them, but it must be hard if both of you struggled that much!?

I think the travelator was due to wet feet, it was the first episode filmed so they weren't given towels or half decent shoes.

On American Gladiators they get a rope to pull themselves up with, and it's still a struggle. Speaking of which, I noticed several differences between our Gladiator show rules and the European version. I liked how the European ref. actually got onto the Gladiators. :D

Uphill sprints aren't the issue. It's the wetness of the thing and the fact that I jumped in to a pool at the very beginning!

Later episodes we are wearing wet shoes and it is a very different story :)

Cheers ATer's!

We had 4 days on the all 8 events in training in a 'mock up set'. This was not like the real set as they were still building it as this is the first time it has been at the studios. We didn't spend that long actually doing the events int eh studio due to the length of time it takes to get them ready and to the time it took to build them.

We didn ot practice with the Gladaitors. We practiced with other Contenders but most of the events we ran at 50-70%. The only events done at full speed was The Wall, Hit and Run, Duel (but not on the real platforms, that was only at 70%). The other events were did at a jogging pace and with a lot less force.

We aren't even allowed to talk to the Gladiators to build up tension.

The Gladiators are all really cool off camera. They pour it on for the cameras which is funny and amusing. Off camera they are ALL very likeable and good humoured guys. Come guys, if you pull some crazy poses like that you HAVE to not take yourself seriously! It was fun and they are all great guys with a lot of athleticism.

Travelator: it was the first show and we ran it in our trainers. The trainers were useless due to the pool and the fact that the travelator itself got wet and slippery. Watch it and see what happens. I don't want to post too much yet incase the others are reading it...I'll post a full review in a week or so. Later shows have a towel by the start of the run so you could dry your feet. My show was actually the first show and it was set far too fast. It was at 70rpm. Later shows it was turned down to 40rpm.

Ah, now I see. Yeah, it did seem like some of those events had unrealistic expectations (ie the spinner thread-spool looking thing. It didn't have handles, no one could get a bear hug on it because it was too big, you guys were wet, and everyone just fell off everytime). Well, I hope to see a bit of modification to the things in future episodes.

PS: Great job on the rings. Haha, that guy was huuuuuuge. Honestly, if I were you, I just would've yelled "PWNED" when he fell in the water :D

But you did a very impressive showing even at 70rpm. Crazy!

Your performance was spectacular. Very, very good job! I really enjoyed watching it. :)

I keep my weight down for weightlifting and I don't want to get much bigger. I just want to be a lot more powerful, faster and stronger.

cheers!

I'm just glad I made it through and didn't lose it. Losing would have been tragic but there are always winners and losers in an event like this.

Again cheers guys. It aws an amazing experience and you guys were great!

Finally got a chance to watch it, VERY well done! Your travelator is even harder than the American, here they get to use a rope to pull themselves up the top half of it.

Your power on the rings was phenomenal, brudda. They'll draw straws back stage to see who has to go out, if they ever have to face you there again. Domination indeed.

BTW, the hand bike looked like it wasn't designed to handle your weight. You were powering the rotations plenty, but it looked to be seizing up. Almost as if you had to throw your weight up to get it to turn. I'm looking forward to your comments on that challenge, and if that was at all what it felt like.

I noticed this as well. Plenty of turns but no movement. I could sense your frustration :p

THAT WAS AMAZING!

they actually call the rules and have a penalty for when you fall in final stage! I hate that pyramid challenge, way too difficult to win.
