I've always wondered this

Let's say you get one of these. Then later you take it in to the shop to get normal car repairs on the engine. Do some refuse to do work on the car? I thought I heard this somewhere and have always wondered this.

Thanks.

If they're not familiar with the parts that you added they might refuse to work on it, especially if it involves removing them. But any competent mechanic should be able to do the repair, but they'll probably charge you more if those added parts are in the way.

If I had a car with special mods, I work on it myself, if I can.
Or it goes to a speed shop if it is an engine related issue.

The dealers that sell the Saleen will have techs trained on the car....I would be hesitant to take it anywhere else.

Ah OK I will head over there tomorrow.

While most shops will still perform basic repairs, as you add aftermarket parts to a car you make diagnosis more difficult for a shop and there are shops that will refuse to work on heavily modified vehicles. This usually applies to modifications that an owner does himself rather than to cars from companies like Saleen who do have documentation on how their cars are supposed to work.

Thanks for that info. None of this really matters to me, considering I am a college student with a 96' Accord, but I was just curious 😀
