I've about had it with Vista - I'm downgrading to XP

So this does it, after my computer crashed for the N-th time, I'm finally fed up. Once every day or so, my explorer crashes when I click a link, or click the back button. This is way to frustrating, especially after I had XP that run stable for 3+ years.

I'm out until they come up with a service pack.

i doubt the service pack will fix your problem as what you're describing works fine on 99.98% of peoples vista machines.

Yeah, Vista running fine on multiple machines here and I can't recall explorer ever crashing.

Sounds like an misbehaving app or something else.

No offence but that's not normal behaviour for any OS,have you tried running Memtest86+ ?..You know ram or hardware can go faulty anytime, personally I would start troubleshooting to find the cause,I bet you'll find its not Vista OS.

FYI I find it quite hard to crash Vista and clicking icons should not make it crash(you think Microsoft would release an OS in that poor a state?..They would not as Vista users here can vouch for).

I also find you automatically blaming the OS disturbing young Padawan,I sence something dark in the background causing the problem .

Btw have a look in Control Panel,problems/reports solutions icon and look at problems history, see if you can get any info there on the cause.

Click Tools | Options, go to the advanced tab. Hit the 'reset' button.

I bet you won't have another crash until you start loading 3rd party crap.
