He tells them that in their suffering for their long awaited messiah, they are now being rewarded for it by his ascendance and that all that they believed in was not a lie, that their views of the world were/are real and legitimate and that His ascendance is living proof of it.

Their existence is now dependent on his existence. They will therefore believe anything he says, know that anything he does is for their sole benefit and that their bond with him is unshakable.
