Ok, before someone walks in here with that o so annoying "Let me Google that for You" link, let me say that I did try googling this one already. I kept getting info on Windows & iTunes 7.

So. Here is the deal. I have the desktop in my sig. I have Vista Ultimate 64 and Win 7 32 Beta installed on it (I got the 32 bit ISO by mistake and didn't realize until after I installed).

In Vista, I can install iTunes, I can see my shared library from my MacBook, and I can stream it, but no sound is coming out of my speakers.

In 7, sound comes out of my speakers, but I cannot install iTunes. If I try to install iTunes 64bit, it will not install at all. It errors out. If I try to install 32 bit, it acts like it is installing.... and then hangs with an empty progress bar for all eternity (well, I don't actually know that since I only left it like that for 2.5 hours while I went out with friends).

So... has anyone gotten iTunes to work in Windows 7? That is the problem that I want addressed here. Unless someone can tell me why Vista keeps resorting to the SPDIF connection on my mobo and answer the iTunes thing. (Had same speakers hooked up, then replaced them with headphones, then used a set of USB speakers for a while. Now am back to the original speakers and they aren't working).

Vista Compatibility mode caused it to advance to the 80% installed point, before stopping. Attempting to cancel it did nothing and I had to restart the system. I think that was unrelated though.

After the reboot, the compatibility mode die it. Thanks a bunch theAnimal. I always forget about compatibility mode.
