I guess I need to poke around the App Store more often but where did this thing come from? It's sort of like a better organized podcast library full of courses, textbooks and lectures. A lot of them a free!

I stumbled across Stanford's Computer System Colloquium to listen to a lecture on Larabee and Nehalem (and ended up watching most of the other sections).

Are you guys using it and what are you reading?

Edit: lol my coworker said it was introduced in 2007, where the hell have I been?

You shouldn't feel so bad. iTunes has so many features that it's easy to miss some of them. Though if you haven't noticed it in 5 years you may want to get your eyes checked and/or make sure you haven't been unexpectedly thrown into the future.😛

Yea, its been a section on iTunes for several years now. The iTunes U app on the iOS app store was new just a few months ago. iTunes U has been on iOS in the iTunes store for a while, but Apple just recently pushed it out in a stand-alone app. Much like the podcasting app.

Its a really cool service and a great way to learn! I'm watching some econ lectures from Yale, and Programming lectures from Berkeley.

It reminds me of the time I went to a national park and for whatever reason I, for the life of me, could not see any freaking bears when people were pointing them out to me. I can only assume iTunes U was bear shaped up to this point.

Is there a way to watch non HD video in iTunes U? Sometimes I don't feel like downloading 500+mb worth of lecture videos
