Also acts as a storage drive

Update 1: Read more from the Live event:

http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/28/palm-live-from-d7

Looks like they did it without Apple's blessing:

+ Non-DRM music sync (all new iTunes music included)
+ Non-DRM movies (so NOT stuff you buy from iTunes, but your own ripped stuff)
+ Photo sync
+ Acts as a "massive USB drive"

Update 2: Verizon to carry the Pre in about 6 months:

Goo...Verizon and a shiny new toy...my 3G iPhone's reception is a lot better than my previous EDGE iPhone, but Verizon in my area is the bomb - I dropped my house phone it was so good.

yeah, the 2009 exclusivity deal really is only half a year. I really think it was because Palm can't reasonably stock all the carriers. They need this out ASAP across as many carriers as possible. The 2nd WebOS device would mitigate this if it's true.

Regardless, still dropping verizon for sprint. I want a cheaper plan overall anyway. On the one hand, this news is great because maybe less people will be out on the 6th trying to get one. On the other, I would like to see sprint actually gain some customers... competition is good.

Sprint is absolutely horrible in my area. Verizon is as good as a house phone, AT&T is usuable if you have a good phone, and T-Mobile is just normal "cell phone" service with all of the associated issues, but it works and it's cheap. A Pre that syncs with Mac and is on Verizon sounds prettttttttttty good :D

Then again, an OLED iPhone sounds pretty good too :D

Sprint roams on the Verizon network (atleast it did back on 2007 when I had Sprint)....so coverage should be as good as Verizon for voice. I'm not sure sure how they handle data concerning roaming though.

Personally, I think that Springs everything data plan pricing is outstanding ($60 for 450 minutes, unlimited data and unlimited text) and depending on the reviews of the Pre, I may switch back from AT&T/iPhone.
