iTunes question

WTF is going on when it scans my drive and says ?determining volume? or whatever. Is it trying nomrolize my MP3?s or what?.. I?m confused and slightly scared.

Hah. Anytime. But I'm not the one who posted the thread in the wrong place.

Anyways, do you have anything checked that says normalize while importing? IIRC, mine didn't take that long for 500+ mp3s.

There is an option that says sounds somthing like normaliztion, but its unchecked, and it still scans all my mp3's, doing the "detereming song volume" thing. I'm guessing is somthing thats done at the decoding level since normalzion would have to be done at the encoding level right?

I just dont want it messing up my nice LAME VBR ecoded mp3's.
