iTunes problem

I'm running a Dell XPS8500 with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. I've done a clean install of iTunes (ver 12.1.2.27), but when I launch iTunes I hang up. The furthest I can get is to click on Edit followed by Preferences and the app freezes.

When I go to Task Manager I get "Not Responding".

Any idea what's going on?
