iTunes Play Count?

How much of a song has to play before iTunes increases the play count?

If it matters, I am talking about on a Mac and an iPhone 4.

I know on the Mac it has to finish the song to increase the play count.

you have to finish the song. easy way is to just slide it to 5 seconds before it ends so you don't have to listen to it.

i have a few smart playlists based on play count

That is what got me started on this.

I tend to skip to the next song when the playing song gets to about 5 seconds left. I was wondering if that means the play count was increasing on those songs.
