iTunes not showing up on screen

Hi

I'm having a problem with iTunes.

Now for the most part iTunes wont start up. I'll click on the short cut or start it from 'all programs' but it wont show up on screen. It WILL load up in the task manager's processes bar but not it's applications bar.

Rarely, it WILL load up. When it does it is extremely slow and laggy. I have all my music on the Apple AirPort Extreme HDD and am connected via ethernet. When I use WMP 11 with the SAME music library it is not slow at all.

I have tried installing and uninstalling the program multiple times.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit Service Pack 1.

When you say itunes directory do you mean the itunes folder in Program Files? Sorry for being daft I just want to be sure.

By the way, I have noticed that if it does load up, it does so around 5 minutes after I clicked on the short cut, it never loads up instantaneously. Later, when I try to delete my music library ( it has old file locations for my music) the program later crashes.

theres more than one. in your documents folder and perhaps applications folder. just run a search for itunes and apple. its not all in program files, in fact most of the database files are not, hundreds of megs of album art it downloads etc are in your windows account directory. leave garbage behind and you won't have a clean install.
