iTunes noob

My daughter wants an iPod for Christmas, which means I'll need to be the tech support until she learns how to use iTunes. (Personally, I'd probably get one of the new Toshiba Gigabeat, but that's just me...) Just a few quick questions:

1) I have about 10GB of MP3's. From what I understand, I just drag and drop to the player in iTunes to load them. Can I do a batch load (I can't imagine having to do 1 at a time)?

2) Will the iPod play them in the native MP3 format, or will it convert them to AAC?

3) I have a lot of videos in several formats (Divx, mpg, avi, etc.) I see that Nero 7 will transcode them to iPod format. Any feedback on how well it works?

I'd appreciate any other advice anyone might have.

Thanks in advance!

1) Yes

2) The iPod can play MP3s, WAVs, AAC and Apple Lossless formats.

3) Never tried Nero for it. I use a program called Videora which works great. The iPod will only play .mov files and mp4.
