iTunes irritation!

Am I missing something?

It seems whenever I import music from a pressed CD (and I have many - as most people do) I am forced to RESTART itunes in order to go on converting to my library. iTunes does not seem to refresh the CD/DVD after a coversion to mp3. If I restart the program, then I can continue importing, but this seems assinine to me.

Is there a switch I simply haven't thrown, do I have a corrupt install, or is this the way it works by default?

Well, I went through the reinstall process and no change.

What happens is this, I insert a CD, I pop up iTunes and convert the CD to mp3s. Then I eject the CD hoping it will refresh and clear the screen (as you would expect I suppose) but it does not. The old list of tunes from the CD I just converted to mp3s stays put. When I insert another (different) CD the list of files I just convereted stays right there, and nothing happens.

If I shut the program down and restart it, I can begin importing again.

Holy mackrel! It just worked, but it took freaking FOREVER to clear the source window!!

I shall have to consider where this problem is exactly.
