iTunes folder

I was trying to format my computer, and was looking through it, and realized that there was a folder called iTunes. That folder takes up 977 MB, and contains various mp3s. Now, I don't use iTunes to purchase my music (I use something else). But it contatins some songs in there, and I was wondering what that folder is used for.

Any ideas?

for storing music that was cataloged by iTunes. I would check to see if you want the music, copy it elsewhere and if you don't have iTunes installed just remove the directory.

the itunes folder is a compilation of all your music. most of it is duplicate of music stored in another area on your system, but some is actually converted to w/e format itunes uses. instead of deleting the itunes folder, delete any music OUTSIDE of it. this way, all the music in your itunes folder you KNOW is read by itunes, is in one spot, and i think itunes format saves you space

do not use itunes

😛

I really hate itunes but...yeah if you use it to play music it may have stored or copied some in there...so just check if the music is already backed up. If it already is then no worries about that folder.
