I've never really understood what you can and can't do with music purchased from iTunes. I'm hoping somebody here can fill in the details. Background:
We have five iPods and three computers (all running WinXP SP3). Everyone has user accounts on all the machines. My wife and I restrict our iTunes purchases to our own computers, but the kids jump around a lot - if one of the computers is unavailable for some reason they'll just go to another one and make purchases there. This has become a syncing and backup nightmare. Here are my questions:
1) Is it possible to sync multiple iPods to a single user account on a single machine (and get all the stuff you purchased)?
2) If one user on a machine purchases songs, can the other users sync those songs to their iPods (using their accounts)?
3) Is it possible to sync a single iPod to multiple machines (and get all the stuff you purchased)?
4) If I purchase and download music from several machines, is there any way to copy/move them all to a single machine?
For all of the above, what are the limitations on performing these tasks?
Thanks in advance!
Joe
