A co-worker of mine is looking for some software that will cleanup his itunes directory. Most tracks are titled "track 2" etc.

Its a pretty good mix of singles and full cds so a program like tag&rename won't really work too well.

If I have to re-name a bunch of tracks inside of iTunes (which is what I assume your co-worker wants to do), I just select them all, hit "Get Info" (Ctrl+I), and add stuff that's pertinent to all tracks (ie, album or artist). Then I just go through and name each individual track.
This is the most efficient system I've come across; I don't know of any comporable program, per se, though.

There's probably 20,000 misidentified/unknown tracks. Doing it manually would take years

I've always just let itunes take care of originizing my stuff and making sure songs have the right names when I add them.

I just asked this question a week or so ago and have been turned on to Musicbrain Picard. Really works well.
