iTunes automatic updating of Library List....

Is there a way in iTunes 4.6 to automatically update the Library List whenever I add new songs into my root folder that contains all the music files?

Or do I have to manually add each file to the list every single time?

Just drag new songs into library list and it will automatically add them to your root folder.



Edit > preferences > Advanced(tab) > check the option (copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to the library)

But I don't keep my music files in the "iTunes Music" folder.

What I'm wishing is for iTunes to automatically scan the Windows-default "My Music" folder wherein I make changes all the time: adding/deleting mp3's.

File> Add Folder to library

I don?t know if this will make duplicate files since you don?t use an iTunes organized folder. I find using iTune very helpful for organizing my music does a great job for me. I would recommend it.
