Itunes 7.5 won't launch

Ok, so after getting an 80 gig Ipod classic, I tried downloading and installing Itunes. Itunes initially installed but then would not launch.

I have removed and reinstalled the program several times, followed pretty much all the instructions on the Apple support site for Itunes failing to launch, without success.

When I try and open Itunes, it just shows the little hourglass for a couple seconds then does nothing. the Itunes.exe process *will* run, but won't do anything.

any ideas?
 
Have you restarted since installing it?

I'm not a fan of the itunes app, so i use sharepod as its alot lighter and leaves less footprint.
