itunes 10, and I still can't view my iphone songs in anything but a list

I just don't get it. You take a look at your music library, you can view it by a list, by coverflow, by tiled cover, and new to itunes 10 a list/cover hybrid thing. Now, plug in your iphone (or ipod I assume) and click to view your music on it. You can only view it as a list, as there's nothing you can do about it.

Why? Why the FUCK is something so simple disabled or undoable? There's no logical reason behind why I can't change my view.

Yeah me too, it's an issue that apparently isn't considered an issue... because it's always been this way. My point is that it shouldn't be this way and I was hoping itunes 10 would have changed it. I should be able to change the view of my iphone music library the same way as my PC library. Maybe this is the punishment itunes is giving me for disabling sync and only managing my music manually. Either way I've never been able to view my library on my iphone from my PC in anything but a list, and it's damn annoying.

Exactly. Make a Playlist, which you can view in any form and just sync that. It's super easy and completely resolves that issue.

I'll just deal with the list then, because I usually just drag and drop from explorer to iTunes and all is well. I don't use iTunes for music so the library doesn't include everything, and I'd like to keep it that way. ITunes has a huge issue with redoing my tags, and doing them wrong. I still don't understand why I can't have other views even if I'm not syncing... it makes no sense.

So if you're just dragging into iTunes, why do you bother with then dragging onto your iPhone? Why not just have the iPhone sync the whole Library? Then you can view your library any way you like.

I realize it's annoying, but I would wager 98% of people who use iTunes just sync. I never look at my iPhone in list view. Of course, I don't mind just having all my music in iTunes either.
